In order to maintain both the education and retail components of its shop, as well as provide a safe and fun environment for its youth and community members, Phoenix Bikes relies on volunteer support. There are many ways to join the Phoenix Bikes team in its efforts. Your strength may be teaching, riding, web development, community outreach, or fixing bikes. Perhaps data entry! If your skills or interests aren't listed here, tell us and we’ll find a home for you at Phoenix Bikes.

Shop Mentor – Lead, Serve, and Teach.
Mentors join youth mechanics in the shop, helping out on bike projects, chess games, shop tasks and or impromptu rides. The relationships formed between youth mechanics and mentors are a vital part of Phoenix Bikes - Mentors teach invaluable lessons to our youth mechanics through an example of service, friendship, and willingness to take on new challenges. The shop benefits most from volunteers that are willing to commit to a regular schedule - once a week, or twice a month.
Join Team Phoenix on its Saturday bike rides! Our Saturday rides are the activity that our youth mechanics most look forward to. The same us true of our volunteers - it's a chance to share the excitement and freedom of cycling that both young and old enjoy.

On Tuesdays, experienced mechanics lead and teach those newer to the nuts and bolts of bike building. This is a chance for you to get your hands greasy, help out the shop, and learn something along the way. Volunteer projects range from fixing up donated bikes to sorting spokes to building wheel racks. Volunteer Shop Night runs from 7 - 9pm and sometimes later as volunteers hang out to talk shop and check out personal bike problem. Contact us to join!
