Community Services
Our youth don't just benefit from our programs–they also give back to the community!

Give-a-Bike Program
The Give-a-Bike (GAB) program provides refurbished bicycles to community members who use them to commute to work, attend school, and enjoy the outdoors, who may not otherwise be able to afford one. GAB bicycles are provided with a lock, helmet, and one year of free basic service.
Give-a-Bike is an opportunity for Phoenix youth to contribute to the community while further developing their engineering skills. The program also helps give bikes a second life, diverting them from the landfill.

Community Bike Safety Checks
Our trained youth mechanics don’t just use wrench at our shop; they also put their new skills to use out in the community. At bike safety checks, youth volunteers set up tools and bike stands in a parking lot or park and offer free maintenance for a targeted group of community members—anyone from young children at a learn-to-ride event to affordable housing residents with limited access to bike shop services. Our youth will check bikes for safety issues; make minor adjustments on brakes, shifting and tire pressure; and help neighbors roll away on a safe ride!
